Laos’s authorities to spread awareness on human trafficking

(MENAFN) Authorities in Laos have intensified efforts to raise public awareness about human trafficking, with a focus on protecting vulnerable communities.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare organized a public campaign on Tuesday to mark the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. According to officials, the initiative aimed to strengthen collective action against trafficking and encourage the pursuit of legal employment opportunities.

The campaign emphasized the severe consequences of human trafficking, describing it as a grave violation of human rights that causes lasting physical and psychological trauma. It also highlighted how trafficking disrupts families, hinders social and economic progress, and poses threats to national security.

The World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, observed annually on July 30, serves as a global reminder of the importance of awareness and international collaboration in combating this crime.
